Imitation Sevrès Marks
Since Sevrès was the first Continental manufacture to develop porcelain, many 18th and 19th manufacturers copied not only their designs and color pallets, but they also copied their marks in an attempt to sell their products to unsuspecting consumers as Sevrès porcelain.
Below are a few of the fake Sevrès marks you may find. It is interesting to note that all of the manufactures are now collectible. One of their pieces with the fake mark could actually make the piece less valuable that had it been marked with their own company logo.
